These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Cowculator ("Service"), operated by Cowculator ("we", "us", "our") at cowculator.com. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Important: Cowculator provides carrying capacity estimates based on publicly available USDA data. These estimates are for informational and educational purposes only. They are not professional agricultural, veterinary, or range management advice.
Carrying capacity varies significantly based on current forage conditions, year-to-year precipitation, grazing management practices, and many other factors that cannot be captured in a web-based tool. You acknowledge that:
Cowculator and its operators are not responsible for any ranching, financial, or management decisions made in reliance on the estimates produced by this tool.
The core calculator is available free of charge. In exchange, free-tier users will see contextual advertisements served by Google AdSense. By using the free tier, you agree to the display of these advertisements. Advertisements are clearly labeled and do not affect the underlying data or calculations.
Premium subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout. All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
You may cancel your premium subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law.
We offer a 7-day refund on new subscriptions if you contact us at support@cowculator.com within 7 days of your initial charge. After 7 days, all sales are final.
We may change subscription prices at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price increase via email before it takes effect on your account.
Premium users may save polygon data and notes ("User Content") to their accounts. You retain ownership of your User Content. By saving content to Cowculator, you grant us a limited license to store and display that content to you through the Service. We will not share your saved polygons or data with third parties without your consent.
The Cowculator name, logo, design, code, and original content are owned by Cowculator and protected by intellectual property laws. Data sourced from USDA is public domain. Blog articles and guides are © Cowculator and may not be reproduced without permission.
You may share links to Cowculator content. You may not copy or republish our original articles or calculator interface without written permission.
The Service integrates with third-party services including the USDA Soil Data Access API, Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Stripe. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for the practices, availability, or accuracy of third-party services.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that USDA data will be accurate or complete. We disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cowculator and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, livestock losses, property damage, or business interruption, arising from your use of or reliance on the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cowculator and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on our website or by email to registered users. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service for any user who violates these Terms, with or without notice. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections 2, 8, 9, and 10 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
